The biggest game in sports goes down on February 13th, 2022. The Cincinnati Bengals, who finished the season 10-7, will face the Rams in the Super Bowl. The last time the Bengals were in the Super Bowl was 1988 and they walked away with a loss. As one of twelve teams that have never won a Super Bowl, they’ll hope to capture one today.
The Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl in the year 2000. They only have one Super Bowl victory, but plenty of appearances. They have one of the best defenses in the NFL and a lethal offense to go along with it. With so much firepower on each side of the ball, the bets are flowing in. Today, we’re going to go over a few bets that you should add to your Super Bowl ticket. Take a look at our SGP below
Game Preview: Cincinnati Bengals vs. Los Angeles Rams
Before we start making NFL predictions, we’re going to take a look at the game. The Bengals have the 10th ranked scoring offense in the NFL, averaging 25.33 points per game. Perhaps even more shocking is their ninth-ranked defense. The Bengals’ defense allows an average of 20.71 points per game. They’ll need a strong defense against Stafford and the Rams.
The Los Angeles Rams offense is one to be admired as well. Cooper Kupp has already won OPOY, could there be a Super Bowl MVP trophy too? Although the Rams’ offense is a remarkable one, their defense is the true hero. They allow 19.41 points per game and are led by Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald. The Bengals are going to have their hands full today.
Against the Spread: Los Angeles Rams -4
Our first pick will be the Los Angeles Rams -4. The Rams are playing in their home stadium, giving them a solid advantage. The four-point spread can seem a little troubling, especially if the difference is just a field goal. However, you have to take into account the poor offensive line of the Bengals. The Rams should be able to easily get to Burrow and force a few turnovers.
We’ll also point out that in seven meetings against the Bengals, the Rams are 5-1-1 against the spread. They’ve done well this season when playing at home, with a 7-3 record. Between these two teams, the better bet is taking the Rams -4.
The Total: UNDER 48.5
This might be a shocking pick, but we actually think the total will go under 48.5 here. The main reason for this is that each team has a rather strong defense. The Bengals rank ninth in the NFL in terms of points allowed. Sure, their offense might have some trouble moving the ball, but they definitely have a resilient defense.
The Rams are in the exact same position on the defensive side of the ball. Each of these teams will likely try to control the pace of the game. This will lead to lower scores, which inevitably leads to the game going under the total.
Super Bowl LVI MVP: Cooper Kupp +550
It’s not incredibly uncommon for wide receivers to win the Super Bowl MVP. The last time it was done was in Super Bowl LII and Julian Edelman won the award. There’s a reason why Kupp’s odds are +550 and Ja’Marr Chase is +2500. People believe Kupp can pull this off, especially since he’s the most vital part of the Rams offense.
It might be a long shot, but it’s definitely one that’s worth adding to your Super Bowl ticket. Kupp is Stafford’s favorite target and Kupp knows how to get in the endzone. When sparks fly on Sunday night, don’t be surprised if you see Kupp getting handed the trophy.
